Federal Revenue Regulates Debt Renegotiation Program with the Federal Government
The regulation of the new program for the renegotiation of debts of individuals and companies with the Union was published on June 21 in the Official Gazette. The Special Tax Regularization Program (Pert) creates reductions that can reach 90% in interest and 50% in fines for those who pay the debit in cash, and tax credits can be deducted from the debt. Adhesion should take place from July 3 to August 31, 2017 through an application filed on the website of the Federal Revenue of Brazil.
Taxpayers who were already in the Tax Regularization Program (PRT), instituted by Provisional Measure No. 766/2017, may migrate to PERT, and payments made under the PRT will be transferred to the new program. However, some modalities administered by the Attorney General's Office, such as debts that are already under tax enforcement, are still awaiting regulation.
